Ronald is the son of Leonelis Blanco and Ronald Acuna. Both his father and maternal grandfather Romualdo Blanco played minor league baseball. His brother is baseball player Luisangel Acuña. His uncle is professional baseball player José Escobar. His cousins include professional baseball players Kelvim Escobar, Alcides Escobar, Edwin Escobar, and Vicente Campos.
Ronald is married to Maria Laborde, with whom he has two children.
