Ronald D. Moore is an American screenwriter and television producer. He developed the shows Battlestar Galactica and Outlander , both of which he was a showrunner of; co-developed the show Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams , and co-created the shows Caprica and For All Mankind . He was also a writer for all of his shows. He co-wrote the films Star Trek Generations and Star Trek: First Contact , and was a writer for the shows Star Trek: The Next Generation , Star Trek: Deep Space Nine , Star Trek: Voyager , Roswell , and Carnivàle .
He was raised in Chowchilla, California. Ronald is married to costume designer Terry Dresbach. He has three children.
Ronald’s paternal grandfather was Dowl/Dowell Crystal Moore (the son of Dexter Roland/Rollen Moore and Emma Elizabeth King). Ronald’s grandfather Dowl was born in either Oklahoma or Arkansas.
