Rula Jebreal is a foreign policy analyst, journalist, novelist, and screenwriter. She has dual Israeli and Italian citizenship.
Rula is the daughter of Zakia and Othman Jebreal. Her father was a Nigerian-born imam, who was of Palestinian Arab and Nigerian descent. Her mother was a Palestinian Arab, died when Rula was five years old. She grew up in Jerusalem, and was partly raised in the Dar El-Tifel orphanage. She speaks Arabic, Hebrew, English, and Italian. Rula is a secular Muslim. She moved to Italy in the 1990s.
Rula has a daughter with her former partner, artist Davide Rivalta.
