Ruud Gullit is a Dutch professional footballer, and manager. A forward and midfielder, he played for HFC Haarlem, Feyenoord, PSV, AC Milan, Sampdoria, and Chelsea, and the Netherlands national team. He managed Chelsea, Newcastle United, Feyenoord, LA Galaxy, and Terek Grozny. He was named the World Soccer Player of the Year in 1987 and 1989. He is 6′3″.
Ruud is the son of Ria Dil and George Gullit. His father is a Surinamese immigrant. His mother was his buitenvrouw, Dutch for “mistress,” from the Jordaan district of Amsterdam. His father worked as an economics teacher at a local school. His mother was a custodian at the Rijksmuseum. He has two children with his former wife Yvonne de Vries; two children with his former wife, Italian, Christina Pensa; and two children, including professional footballer Maxim Gullit, with his former wife Estelle Cruyff. Estelle was the niece of professional footballer Johan Cruyff .
Ruud’s paternal grandfather is the paternal grandson of Charles Gullit and Martha Cambridge, and the maternal grandson of Alexander Winter and Susanna Udenhout.
