Sam Getz is an American singer and guitarist. He is the lead vocalist of blues rock band Welshly Arms.

Sam’s paternal grandfather was Bernard Christopher Getz (the son of Grover Ivan Getz and Theresa Mary Wiandt/Weiant). Bernard was born in Summit, Ohio. Grover was the son of David William Getz and Minnie Ellen Ingersoll. Sam’s great-grandmother Theresa was the daughter of Henry Weiand, who was German; and of Mary Burg. The Getz surname was originally spelled Goetz, and originates from Rhineland, Germany.

Sam’s paternal grandmother was Ruth Mildred Dye (the daughter of Harry Rosson Dye and Hazel E. Simpson). Ruth was born in Troy, Ohio. Harry was the son of George Washington Dye and Mary Julia Rosson.
