Sam Simon was an American director, producer, writer, animal rights activist, and philanthropist. He co-developed The Simpsons , alongside James L. Brooks and Matt Groening .
Sam was the son of Joan and Arthur Sheldon Simon.
Sam’s paternal grandfather was Samuel H. Simon (the son of Charles Simon and Leah Bloom). Samuel was born in Canada. Charles was born in Germany, the son of Harris Simon and Sarah. Leah was born in Poland, the daughter of Moses Bloom and Iowa.
