Sasami, also stylized as SASAMI, is an American musician. She is known for her 2022 album “Squeeze.” Her performance styles include singer-songwriter ballads, heavy metal, and industrial. She was a member of rock band Cherry Glazerr.
Sasami’s mother was born in Japan, to a Zainichi Korean family. Sasami was raised in the Unification Church.
Sasami’s paternal grandfather was Frank Ashworth (the son of Arthur Ashworth and Maude Harrison). Frank was born in Flint, Michigan, to English parents. Arthur was born in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, the son of Ephraim Ashworth and Mary Redfern. Sasami’s great-grandmother Maude was born in Widnes, Lancashire, the daughter of Frederick Harrison and Agnes Wolstencroft.
Sasami’s paternal grandmother was Irma Ender (the daughter of Emanuel Ender and Martha Auguste Buchholz). Irma was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Emanuel was born in Germany. Martha was born in Milwaukee, the daughter of August J Buchholz and Augusta Nuss, who were ethnic German emigrants, from Posen/Poznań, now Poland.
