Scott Rolen is an American professional baseball player. A third baseman, he played for the Philadelphia Phillies, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has won eight Gold Glove awards. He is regarded as one of the greatest defensive third basemen of all time.
He is the son of McMinn and Edward Rolen. He is married to Niki, with whom he has two children.
Scott’s paternal grandfather was Edward Charles Rolen, Jr. (the son of Edward Charles Rolen and Lennie/Lenna P. Robinson). Scott’s grandfather Edward was born in Oronoko Township, Berrien County, Michigan. Scott’s great-grandfather Edward was born in Frankton, Madison County, Indiana, the son of Charles H. Scott’s paternal grandmother was Garnett Deattress Abbott/Abbot (the daughter of Merrill Lloyd Abbott and Rebecca Mabel Norris). Garnett was born in Washington. Merrill was born in Iowa, the son of George Allen Abbott and Hulda Jane Marsh. Rebecca was born in Iowa, the daughter of Charles Theodore Norris and Aminda Clementine McMaster.
Scott’s maternal grandfather was Glendon Holloway McMinn (the son of Clarence Glendon McMinn and Edith Emaline Andrews). Clarence was born in Texas, the son of John Holloway McMinn and Ellen Madora Clayton. Edith was born in Texas, the daughter of John Leon Andrews and Maggie Emmaline Temple.
Scott’s maternal grandmother was Ruby Pauline Wooten (the daughter of Elmer Wooten and Essie Strickland).
