Sebastian Cabot was a British actor. He was known for playing Dr. Carl Hyatt on the series Checkmate and Giles French on the sitcom Family Affair . His roles also included the films Old Mother Riley Overseas , Third Time Lucky , Dick Barton Strikes Back , Old Mother Riley’s New Venture , Midnight Episode , The Wonder Kid , Old Mother Riley’s Jungle Treasure , Ivanhoe (1952), Babes in Bagdad , The Captain’s Paradise , Always a Bride (1953), Romeo and Juliet (1954), Knights of the Queen , Kismet (1955), Westward Ho the Wagons! , Dragoon Wells Massacre , Johnny Tremain , Omar Khayyam (1957), Terror in a Texas Town , The Angry Hills , Seven Thieves , The Time Machine (1960), Twice-Told Tales , The Sword in the Stone (1963), The Family Jewels , The Jungle Book , as Bagheera and the narrator; and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ; and the made-for-tv movies The Spy Killer , Foreign Exchange (1970), and Miracle on 34th Street (1973).
Cabot was born in London, to Belgian parents, Sophie Augustine Hubertine (Brimbois) and Oscar Charles Cabot. His parents were from Esneux, Liège, Wallonia. Sebastian was married to Kathleen Rose Humphreys, until his death, with whom he had three children.
Sebastian’s maternal grandfather was Guillaume Francois Joseph Brimbois (the son of Hubert Joseph Brimbois and Josephine Dispas). Guillaume was born in Tilff, Liège, Wallonia. Hubert was born in Tilff, the son of Francois Joseph Brimbois and Marie Therese Debounij. Josephine was born in Tilff, the daughter of Guillaume Hubert Joseph Dispas and Lambertine Pahaut.
Sebastian’s maternal grandmother was Marie Augustine Nizet (the daughter of Jean Francois Nizet and Henriette Lays). Marie was born in Tilff, Liège, Wallonia. Jean was born in Beyne-Heusay, Liège, the son of Jean Francois Nizet and Martine Tosset. Henriette was born in Esneux, Luik, the daughter of Francois Lays and Clemence Halleux.
