Serge Ibaka is a Congolese-Spanish basketball player. A center and power forward, he has played for Inter Club, L’Hospitalet, Manresa, the Oklahoma City Thunder, Real Madrid, the Orlando Magic, the Toronto Raptors, the Los Angeles Clippers, Agua Caliente Clippers, the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), and Bayern Munich. He was part of the Spanish national team at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He is 6′11″.
Serge was born in Brazzaville, the son of Désiré Ibaka and Amadou Djonga. His parents were professional basketball players, his father for the Republic of the Congo and his mother for the Democratic Republic of the Congo, or Congo-Kinshasa. His father was imprisoned during the Second Congo War. His brother, Igor, has played NCAA basketball. Serged moved to France when he was seventeen. He was naturalized a Spanish citizen in 2011. Serge speaks Lingala, French, English, and Spanish.
Serge has a daughter. He is related to Romanian television host Cabral Ibacka, whose father is Congolese.
