Shaggy is a Jamaican-born American reggae musician, singer, and DJ. He is known for his hit singles “Boombastic,” “It Wasn’t Me,” and “Angel.”
He is the son of Lorraine and Clinton Burrell. At the age of eighteen, he moved with his family to the Flatbush area of Brooklyn, New York. He was a U.S. Marine, serving with the Field Artillery Battery in the 10th Marine Regiment during the Persian Gulf War. Shaggy is married to Rebecca Parker. Shaggy has two children, including hip hop recording artist Robb Banks, from a previous relationship; and three children with Rebecca.
One of Shaggy’s grandmothers is named Sylvia Sherman.
