Sharleen Spiteri is a Scottish recording artist, songwriter, and guitarist. She is the frontwoman of rock band Texas .
She was born in Glasgow, the daughter of Vilma, a window dresser, and Eddie Spiteri, a merchant seaman. Her father played guitar and her mother sang. Spiteri is a Maltese last name. She has stated that her grandmother was from Bordeaux, France. During her childhood, her family moved to Balloch, near the shores of Loch Lomond.
Sharleen is married to celebrity chef Bryn Williams. She has a daughter with her former partner Ashley Heath, the editor of Arena magazine.
Sharleen’s paternal grandparents likely were named Carmelo/Charles John Spiteri and Eugenia Viganza Maria Cefai. They were from Egypt, and were ethnically Maltese.
