Sharon Horgan is an Irish actress, writer, comedian, and producer. She co-created the shows Pulling , Dead Boss , Catastrophe , Motherland , Women on the Verge , and Shining Vale ; created the shows Angelo’s , Divorce , and Dreamland ; and co-developed the show Bad Sisters . She also wrote for all her shows, and starred in Pulling , Angelo’s , Dead Boss , Catastrophe , Women on the Verge , and Bad Sisters . Her roles also include the series The State We’re In , The Friday Night Project , Broken News , Rob Brydon’s Annually Retentive , Free Agents , The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret , Big Babies , Psychobitches , Adventure Time , Bojack Horseman , Disenchantment , Bob’s Burgers , This Way Up , HouseBroken , Best Interests , and Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake ; the films Imagine Me & You , Death of a Superhero , Run & Jump , Man Up , Game Night , Military Wives , How to Build a Girl , Dating Amber , Everybody’s Talking About Jamie , The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent , A Greyhound of a Girl , and Rally Road Racers ; and the made-for-tv movie Together (2021).
She is the daughter of Ursula (Campbell) and John Horgan. Her father is from New Zealand, and her mother is Irish, from County Kildare. Her brother is Irish rugby union player Shane Horgan. Sharon was raised in Bellewstown, County Meath, Ireland, where her parents ran a turkey farm. She has two children with her former husband, businessperson Jeremy Rainbird.
Sharon is a second cousin of Irish jockeys Leighton Aspell and Paddy Aspell.
