Shira Haas is an Israeli actress. Working both in Israel and internationally, she has starred on the shows Shtisel , Hazoref , Ikaron HaHachlafa , Harmon , HaMenatzeah , Unorthodox , Bodies , and Night Therapy , and in the films Princess (2014), A Tale of Love and Darkness , The Zookeeper’s Wife , Foxtrot (2017), Mary Magdalene (2018), Noble Savage , Broken Mirrors , Esau , Asia (2020), and Captain America: Brave New World .
Her family is of Polish Jewish, Czech Jewish, and Hungarian Jewish descent. Her grandfather was imprisoned in Auschwitz. Her grandmother was from Hungary. Her first name Shira means “poetry,” “singing,” or “her song” in Hebrew.
Shira was raised in Hod HaSharon.
