Siniša Mihajlović was a Serbian professional footballer, and manager. A defender, he played for Borovo, Vojvodina, Red Star Belgrade, Roma, Sampdoria, Lazio, and Inter Milan, and the Serbia and Montenegro national team. He managed Bologna, Catania, Fiorentina, and the Serbia national team, Sampdoria, Milan, Torino, and Sporting CP.
Siniša was born in Vukovar, SR Croatia, near the border of SR Serbia, and was raised in Borovo Naselje, in a working-class family. His father, Bogdan Mihajlović, was Serbian, from Bosnia, and his mother, Viktorija, was Croatian.
Siniša identified himself as Serbian, but said that he viewed Croatia as his country as well.
Siniša was married to Italian television presenter Arianna Rapaccioni, until his death, with whom he had five children.
