Sirikit was a queen dowager of Thailand. She was Queen consort of Bhumibol Adulyadej , King of Thailand, from 28 April, 1950 to 13 October, 2016, and Regent of Thailand, from 22 October, 1956 to 5 November, 1956. The couple were married until Bhumibol’s death, and had four children.
She was the daughter of Nakkhatra Mangkala, 2nd Prince of Chanthaburi, and of Bua Snidvongs. Her son, Vajiralongkorn , became King upon her husband’s death. Among her grandchildren were Bajrakitiyabha and Dipangkorn Rasmijoti .
Sirikit’s paternal grandfather was Kitiyakara Voralaksana, 1st Prince of Chanthaburi (the son of Chulalongkorn and Uam Bisalayaputra). The 1st Prince was born in Grand Palace Bangkok, Siam. Chulalongkorn was the son of Mongkut and Debsirindra. Uam was the daughter of Yim Bisalayaputra and Prang Sombatsiri.
Sirikit’s paternal grandmother was Princess Apsarasaman Devakula (the daughter of Devan Uthaivongse, Prince Devavongse Varoprakarn, and of Yai Sucharitakul). Devan was the son of Mongkut and Piam Sucharitakul. Yai was the daughter of Hong Sucharitakul and Tat Dhammasaroj-Indravimala.
Sirikit’s maternal grandfather was Sadan Snidvongs (the son of Prince Sai Snidvongs and Khian Sasisamit). Sadan was born in Bangkok, Thailand. Sai was the son of Nuam, Prince Wongsadhirajsnid, and of Yaem Na Bangxang.
Sirikit’s maternal grandmother was Bang Bunyathon (the daughter of Ruai Bunyathon and Wae Na Bangxang). Wae was the daughter of That Na Bangxang.
