Stella McCartney is an English fashion designer.

She is the daughter of musician and Beatles member Sir Paul McCartney , and American musician, photographer, and animal rights activist Linda McCartney (born Linda Louise Eastman). Her siblings include potter and artist Heather McCartney, photographer, documentary filmmaker, plant-based and vegetarian cookbook author, and activist Mary McCartney, and musician and songwriter James McCartney. Heather was born to her mother and her first husband, and was adopted by Paul. Stella is married to publisher Alasdhair Willis, with whom she has four children.

Stella’s father is of Irish, English, Manx/Isle of Man, Northern Irish, Scottish, and at least 1/32 Welsh, ancestry. Stella’s mother was Jewish, of Polish Jewish, Russian Jewish, and German Jewish descent.

Stella’s paternal grandfather was James McCartney (the son of Joseph McCartney and Florence Clegg). James was born in Everton, Liverpool, Lancashire. Joseph was the son of James McCartney, who was of Irish and Scottish descent, and of Elizabeth Williams, who was of Welsh and English ancestry. Florence was the daughter of Paul Clegg and Jane Claque/Clague, who were both born on the Isle of Man, with Jane being from St Anne.

Stella’s paternal grandmother was Mary Patricia Mohin (the daughter of Owen Mohan/Mohin and Mary Theresa Danher). Stella’s grandmother Mary Patricia was born in Liverpool, Lancashire. Owen was born in Tullynamalrow, County Monaghan, Ireland, the son of Owen Mohan and Mary McGeogh/McGough; he had changed his surname from Mohan to Mohin. Stella’s maternal grandmother was Louise Sara Linder (the daughter of Max Joseph Lindner/Linder and Stella Dryfoos). Louise was born in Ohio.
