Stellan is the son of Gudrun Margareta (Larsson) and Jan Sören Skarsgård. He is married to American, Megan Everett. He has six children, including actors Alexander Skarsgård , Gustav Skarsgård, Bill Skarsgård , and Valter Skarsgård , with his former wife, Swedish physician My; and two children, including actor Kolbjörn Skarsgård, with Megan. His family’s surname was originally Nilsson.
