Steven R. Monroe is an American film director and writer. He has directed the films House of 9 , It Waits , the remake I Spit on Your Grave (2010), I Spit on Your Grave 2 , and The Exorcism of Molly Hartley ; and the made-for-tv movies Ogre (2008), Wyvern , Ice Twisters , Mongolian Death Worm , which he also co-wrote; The 12 Disasters of Christmas , and Grave Halloween .
He is married to Melanie.
Steven’s maternal grandfather was named Louis Schlitten/Schletten (the son of Abraham Schlitten/Schletten and Sallie). Louis was born in New York, to Jewish parents from Russia and Austria.
