She is known for her roles in the films The Whole Ten Yards , Tyler Perry’s Daddy’s Little Girls , Why Did I Get Married? , and Why Did I Get Married Too? ; The Longshots , Couples Retreat , and Jumping the Broom , and on the shows Boston Common , For Better or Worse , and Empire . She has also directed episodes of the shows Tales , Star , 9-1-1 , Big Sky , Our Kind of People , Black Mafia Family , Bel-Air , and Mayor of Kingstown .

She is a practising Christian.
