Ted Lieu is an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he has served as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from California, since January 3, 2015, Co-Chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, from January 3, 2019 to January 3, 2023, and Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus, since January 3, 2023.
Ted was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio during his childhood.
He is married to Betty Lieu, a former California Deputy Attorney General. The couple has two children.
