Thomas Mars is a French musician. He is the lead singer of alternative rock band Phoenix.
He is the son of Ingrid Karasek and Jean-Louis Croquet. His uncle was journalist, literary critic, novelist, and author Hellmuth Karasek; Hellmuth was born in Brno, Czechoslovakia, now Czech Republic, and later moved to Germany. Thomas is a maternal cousin of theatre director Daniel Karasek, writer and journalist Manuel Karasek, and lawyer, television presenter, and author Laura Karasek.
Thomas is married to American director and actress Sofia Coppola , with whom he has two children, including actress and singer Romy Mars .
