Tiago Splitter is a Brazilian professional basketball player. A center and power forward, he played for Ipiranga, Saski Baskonia, Araba Gorago Alava, Bilbao Basket, the San Antonio Spurs, Valencia, the Atlanta Hawks, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Delaware 87ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is interim HC for the Portland Trail Blazers. He was previously assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets and the Houston Rockets, coach for Paris Basketball, and assistant coach for the Portland Trail Blazers. He is 6′11″.
Tiago was born in Joinville, Santa Catarina, the son of Elisabeth Beims and Cassio Roberto Splitter. He grew up in Blumenau, Santa Catarina. Tiago was raised Roman Catholic, and speaks fluent Portuguese, English, Spanish, and German. His parents are pictured here . Tiago has said that he had relatives who were victims of the Holocaust, though he has no evident Jewish heritage.
He is married to Fernanda. He has two children with his former wife Amaia Amescua.
