Tommy McDonald was an American professional football player. A flanker and halfback, he played for the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys, the Los Angeles Rams, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He was a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was also part of the College Football Hall of Fame, where he played for Oklahoma.
Tommy was the son of Beulah Mary and Clyde Ernest/Earnest McDonald.
Tommy’s paternal grandfather was Thomas F. McDonald (the son of Elbert Wesley McDonald and Larada Florentine Best). Elbert was born in Missouri, the son of Thomas McDonald and Hiley L. Carter. Larada was born in Tennessee, the daughter of Samuel David Best and Sarah Ann Sally Best.
