Tony is the son of Libby and Ricardo Azevedo. His father is a Brazilian professional water polo player and coach. His mother is American. His sister Cassie is also a water polo player. His uncle (father’s brother) is Brazilian swimmer Antônio Carlos/Carlos Antônio da Rocha Azevedo, also known as Rochinha. Tony moved to the U.S. with his family at the age of one month, and was raised in California.
