Toshi Ichiyanagi was a Japanese composer of avant-garde music, and pianist. He was one of Japan’s leading post-war composers.
He was the son of Mitsuko, a piano teacher, and Shinji Ichiyanagi, a cellist. He was married to Sumiko, until her death, with whom he had a son.
