Travis d’Arnaud is an American professional baseball player. A catcher, he plays for the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was previously with the New York Mets, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Atlanta Braves. He is also known as Lil D.
Travis is the son of Marita, who ran an after-school performing arts center, and Lance d’Arnaud, who played trumpet, piano, and trombone. His brother, Chase d’Arnaud, is also a professional baseball player. Travis is married to Britney Cobian, with whom he has three children.
Travis’ paternal grandfather was Truman Earle Darnaud (the son of LaVerne Ray Hough/Darnaud and Pearl Wright). LaVerne was the son of Ray Harrison Hough and Verna Winona McQueen. The last name d’Arnaud comes from Travis’ great-grandfather’s step-father.
Travis’ paternal grandmother was Marilyn Joan Espe (the daughter of Nobel Koren Espe and Bethel Amelia Mitsven). Nobel was born in Iowa, to a Norwegian father, Ole Peterssen Espe, and a Danish mother, Johanna Hermansen. Bethel was born in Iowa, of Norwegian descent, and was the daughter of Anton Hans Mitswen and Manda Ovidia Kinseth.
