He is the son of Josephine and Valentin Emmich. His father was born in Germany. Val is married, and has two children.
Val’s paternal grandfather was Eugene Emmich (the son of Alexander Emmich and Lidia Deis). Eugene was born in Irkutsk, Russia.
Val’s paternal grandmother was Alexandra Drosdova/Drosdovski (the daughter of Frederick/Teodor Drosdov/Drosdovski and Natasha/Natalie Kalenikova). Alexandra was born in Baranavichy, Belarus.
Val’s maternal grandfather was named Peter/Pietro Dell’accio/Dellaccio/Dell’aggio. Peter was an Italian immigrant, who moved to the U.S. in 1939.
