Van Hansis is an American actor. He starred as Luke Snyder on the soap opera As the World Turns . His roles also include television’s EastSiders and General Hospital , and the films Occupant , Devil May Call , Kiss Me, Kill Me ; and First Reformed .
He was raised in Greenfield, Massachusetts.
Van’s paternal grandfather was Charles Stanley “Chuck” Hansis, Jr. (the son of Charles Harry Hansis, Sr. and Amy Bjarlott Hanson/Hansen). Van’s great-grandfather Charles was the son of Charles Sebastian/Sabastian Hansis, who was German, and of Mary Esther Strock, whose father was German. Amy was the daughter of Norwegian parents, Sigword Hanson and Laura Thorp.
Van’s paternal grandmother was Jean Elizabeth Harbaugh (the daughter of George Oliver Harbaugh and Elizabeth Alice Ellison). Jean was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin. George was the son of George Jacob Harbaugh and Mary Catherine Kretsinger, and had deep German ancestry in the U.S. Elizabeth was the daughter of Johann Benjamin Ellison, who was German, from Orsehweier, Baden-Württemberg; and of Sophia Frances Eppler, whose parents were also German.
Van’s maternal grandfather was Marion Willard Vanfossen (the son of Robert Lee Vanfossen and Eva Lucretia Matthews). Marion was born in Jersey, Illinois, and had deep American roots. Robert was the son of Christian Zimmerman and Evaline Rebecca Van Fossen. Eva was the daughter of George Francis Matthews and Susan Hawk.
Van’s maternal grandmother was Vida/Veda/Vita F. Moore (the daughter of Clarence Hall Moore and Lelia/Leila Gertrude Frost). Vida was born in Illinois, and had deep roots in the U.S. Clarence was the son of Hugh Thomas Moore, whose father was from Ireland; and of Sarah Joanna Joanna Alward. Lelia was the daughter of Samuel Newton Frost and Ida A. Kitzmiller.
