Van Morrison is a Northern Irish singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He is also known as Van the man, The Belfast Cowboy, and The Belfast Lion.
He is the son of Violet (Stitt), a singer and tap dancer, and George Morrison, a shipyard electrician. He was brought up in a Protestant family. He has a daughter, singer and songwriter Shana Morrison, with his former wife, American, Janet Rigsbee; and two children with his former wife, model, television presenter, and beauty queen Michelle Rocca, who was Miss Ireland 1980.
