Victor Matfield is a South African rugby union player. A lock, he played for Blue Bulls, Griquas, Cats, Bulls, Toulon, and Northampton Saints, and for S.A. Academy, the South Africa tests team, the South Africa tour team, S.A. ‘A’, and Springboks/the South Africa national team. He also captained Blue Bulls and Bulls, and Springboks. He is 6′7″.
He is the son of Hettie and Fai Matfield. He is married to Monja Bekker, with whom he has three children. His first language is Afrikaans.
His mother was said to have been from Rhodesia. There is also an internet rumour that Victor’s grandmother was Māori. Victor has said that this is not accurate.
