Virginia Gardner is an American actress. Her roles include Project Almanac , Good Kids , Tell Me How I Die , Halloween , Monster Party , All the Bright Places , and Fall , and the show Marvel’s Runaways .

She is married to musician Jed Elliott, who is the bassist of British rock band The Struts.

Virginia’s paternal grandfather was Charles Robert Gardner (the son of Columbus Robert “Lum” Gardner and Docia/Dasha Andrews/Anderson). Charles was born in North Carolina. Columbus was the son of Daniel James Gardner and Julia JoAnn/Joanna Owensby. Docia was the daughter of Mal Andrews.

Virginia’s paternal grandmother was Gloria Ann Martin (the daughter of John Terrell Martin and Sally/Sallie Beatrice Lynn). Gloria was born in North Carolina. John was the son of Lewis/Louis Martin and Hallie. Sally was the daughter of John Thomas Lynn and Sallie Ann Gladden.

Virginia’s maternal grandfather was William Daniel “Bill” Dyke (the son of Alfred Daniel Dyke and Vinnie Pauline Thompson). Bill was born in Princeton, Illinois, and was a lawyer, judge, and politician. As a Republican, he was Mayor of Madison, Wisconsin, from April 1969 to April 17, 1973, and Chief Judge of the 7th District of Wisconsin Circuit Courts, from August 1, 2007 to July 31, 2013. He was also the American Independent Party’s nominee for Vice President of the United States in 1976. Virginia’s great-grandfather Alfred was the son of Swedish emigrants, from Djursdala, Kalmar, Daniel Danielsson Dyke and Christina Louisa Gustafsdotter. Virginia’s great-grandmother Vinnie was the daughter of William Samuel Thompson, who had deep roots in the U.S.; and of Elizabeth Joanna “Lizzie” Scharff, whose parents were German.

Virginia’s maternal grandmother was Joan Piper (the daughter of Glenn William Piper and May/Mae J. Johnson). Joan was born in Princeton, Illinois. Glenn was the son of William Ezekiel Piper, who had deep roots in the U.S.; and of Margaret W. Glynn, whose parents were Irish. Virginia’s great-grandmother May was the daughter of Nicholas Stanislaus Johnson and Katherine “Kate” Scully, who were born in Illinois, both of them to Irish parents. She had roots in County Louth, Monaghan, and Galway.
