He has served as Prime Minister of Ukraine , from 14 April, 2016 to 29 August, 2019, and previously as (Acting) Prime Minister, from 25 July, 2014 to 31 July, 2014. He has also been Mayor of Vinnytsia, from 28 March, 2006 to 27 February, 2014, and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, from 27 November, 2014 to 14 April, 2016, among other duties.
His father is named Borys Isaakovych Groysman, and is a businessperson and politician. Volodymyr is married and has three children.
Volodymyr is Jewish.
Volodymyr’s paternal grandfather was named Isaak Groysman. Isaak survived the Holocaust by pretending to be dead after being dropped into a mass grave by Nazi troops.
