Walter Johnson was an American professional baseball player. A pitcher, he played for the Washington Senators of Major League Baseball (MLB). He also managed the Washington Senators and the Cleveland Indians. He is in the Baseball Hall of Fame as a Washington Senator, and is rated one of the the best pitchers of all time. He was nicknamed “Barney” and “the Big Train.”
Walter was the son of Minnie and Frank Edwin Johnson. He was married to Hazel Lee Roberts, until her death, with whom he had five children.
