Wesley Sneijder is a Dutch professional footballer. An attacking midfielder, he played for Ajax, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Galatasaray, Nice, and Al-Gharafa, and the Netherlands national team.
He is the son of Sylvia Thiele and Barry Sneijder. His siblings are professional footballers Jeffrey Sneijder and Rodney Sneijder. He is married to Spanish-Dutch actress, model, and television host Yolanthe Cabau . He has two children, including a son with Yolanthe. Wesley converted to Roman Catholicism while with Yolanthe.
Wesley’s paternal grandmother was Greek, born in Kavala. She moved to Utrecht before WWII.
Wesley’s maternal grandfather was named Wim Thiele.
