Wong Kar-wai is a Hong Kong film director. He is known for his films As Tears Go By , In the Mood for Love , 2046 , My Blueberry Nights , The Grandmaster , and Days of Being Wild , among others.
Wong was born in Shanghai, and moved to Hong Kong at age five. His father was a sailor.
He has said that he had trouble learning Cantonese and English, as Mandarin was his first language. He is married to Esther, with whom he has a son.
