Wrenn’s paternal grandfather was Paul Wesley Schmidt (the son of Paul Edward Schmidt and Alvina Bertha Brakemeyer). Wrenn’s grandfather Paul was born in Hill City, Kansas. Wrenn’s great-grandfather Paul was the son of Fredrick William Ernest Schmidt, who was a German emigrant, from Detmold, Lippe; and of Louisa Sievert, who was born in Missouri, to German parents. Wrenn’s great-grandmother Alvina was also the daughter of German parents, William Brakemeyer and Louise Sophia Temple.
Wrenn’s paternal grandmother was Ruby E. Drake (the daughter of Denver Denton Drake and Lou Edna Wallace). Ruby was born in Industry, Kansas, and had deep lines in the U.S. Denver was the son of Cincinnati Quick Drake and Ada Nora Cady. Lou was the daughter of John Edward Wallace and Mary Elizabeth Britt.
