Xavi, or Xavi Hernández, is a Spanish professional footballer, and manager. A midfielder, he played for Barcelona B, Barcelona, and Al Sadd, and the Spain national team and the Catalonia national team. He managed Al Sadd and Barcelona. He is considered one of the greatest central midfielders of all time, and by some to be Spain’s greatest ever player.
Xavi is the son of Maria Mercè Creus Feliu and Joaquim Hernández López, a professional footballer, who played for Sabadell in the first division. He is of at least part Catalan ancestry. His brother is professional footballer and manager Óscar Hernández. Xavi is married to Núria Cunillera, with whom he has two children.
