Yves-François Blanchet is a Canadian politician. He has served as Leader of the Bloc Québécois, since January 17, 2019. He has also been Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment, Wildlife and Parks of Quebec, from December 4, 2012 to April 23, 2014; as well as, a Member of Parliament for Beloeil—Chambly (QC), since October 21, 2019.
He is the son of Pierrette Bédard and Raymond Blanchet. He is married to Nancy Déziel.
Yves-François’s paternal grandfather was Andre Blanchet (the son of Francois Blanchet and Leontine Milliard). Andre was born in St-Pacôme, Québec. Francois was the son of Pierre Blanchet and Marcelline D’Anjou. Leontine was the daughter of Prudent Milliard and Delphine Ouellet.
Yves-François’s paternal grandmother was Josephine Beaulieu (the daughter of Pierre Beaulieu and Delphine Lavoie). Josephine was born in Saint-Louis, Kamouraska, Québec. Pierre was the son of Georges Beaulieu and Rosalie Paradis. Delphine was the daughter of Jean-Baptiste Lavoie and Demerise Thibault.
Yves-François’s maternal grandfather was Pierre Bedard (the son of Gaudias/Gaudiose Bedard and Joséphine Lacroix). Gaudias was the son of Etienne Bedard and Georgina Hamelin. Joséphine was the daughter of Carmel Lacroix and Arselie Perreault.
Yves-François’s maternal grandmother was Jeannette Robidoux (the daughter of Francois Robidoux and Eva Labrecque). Yves-Francois’s great-grandfather Francois was the son of Joseph Robidoux and Marie-Ursule Dubreuil. Eva was the daughter of Thomas Labrecque and Marie-Desanges Bisson.
