Zack Wheeler is an American professional baseball player. A pitcher, he plays for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was previously with the New York Mets.
Zack is the son of Elaine, who has played competitive softball, and Barry Wheeler, who played amateur baseball. His brother Adam was a minor league pitcher in the New York Yankees farm system. Zack was raised partly in Dallas, Georgia. He is married to Dominique, with whom he has four children.
Zack’s paternal grandfather was William Robert Wheeler (the son of Buford Wheeler and Fronnie/Fonnie L. Hatcher). William was born in Cobb County, Georgia. Buford was born in Cobb County, the son of William Ellison Wheeler and Eliza A. Walker. Fronnie was born in Fulton County, the daughter of William Luther Hatcher and Lula J. Winkler.
